CRAFT Newsletter for March 28, 2008
Octopus from Sweater Sleeves, Make a Vintage Pillowcase Lunchbox, Shopping Bag Wallet, Fabric Covered Switch Plates, Trash Wool Pet Toys
Hi Crafters,
I love the idea of recycling -- using old containers, scrap fabrics, or yarn to make something new again! This CRAFT newsletter is filled with recycled crafts projects so you can craft with what you have around the house, from an octopus puppet made from old sweater sleeves to a pretty vintage pillowcase lunch box.
Happy crafting!
Cheers,

Dot at Dabbled made tutorial for making an octopus puppet from recycled sweater sleeves. What a great project for reusing your moth-eaten or otherwise un-thriftworthy garments!

HOW TO - Shopping Bag Wallet

Instructables user Rollin made a how to for these wallets made from woven polypropylene shopping bags. I haven't seen these bags much in the states; they're more common in Europe, and very strong. They don't often fail, but when they do, make one of these!
Fabric Covered Switch Plates

Pink Chalk Studio made these colorful fabric covered switch plates. I love her technique for sewing an extra piece of fabric in the middle to keep the fabric lines clean when you glue the switch plate to the fabric. A great way to use up your fabric scraps!
