Hi Crafters,
We all know how important it is these days to go green, but who knew how fun it would be to craft green?
From making a rice bag tote to a recycled magazine box, I've included a roundup of projects as well as tips that will help you live a greener life and show your love for Mother Earth.
Speaking of showing our love, CRAFT magazine is now greener than ever! Starting with Volume 05, we're using 30% post-consumer recycled paper. Between CRAFT and our sister publication MAKE, our new paper will save 2,000 trees every year and will save enough energy to power more than 50 homes!
Cheers,
Natalie Zee Drieu

Craft My Ride

Toyota is sponsoring a new contest for all you DIY-ers out there--just whip up a crafty car accessory, submit photos of said project, and stay tuned until October 22 to see if you've won. The Grand Prize is a 2008 Scion XD, with the second and third place finalists netting $1,000 and $500, respectively. A new Scion would certainly make toting around your knitting projects a lot easier, so what have you got to lose? Link.
