The Knitty Calorimetry pattern by Kathryn Schoendorf is a great knit headband to make for those of us with long hair. It keeps your hair all in place while keeping your head warm in winter. Link.

I just made one of these for my friend. I used a chunky alpaca/acrylic blend and cut the pattern size practically in half (cast on 60 sts and instead of the row 5 repeat 15 times, I only did about 7 or 8 times). It was a ridiculously quick and fun knit and I want to make a bunch more for myself!
